Anna Salman Dar is a bilingual, indie pop singer-songwriter who was born and raised in Lahore, Pakistan. As a young creative, Anna grew up with an innate passion for music. Her powerful vocals and composing abilities landed her the opportunity to be featured in the Nescafé Basement, a prestigious Pakistani music television program spotlighting emerging talent, when she was only 16 years old. There she joined an all-female ensemble and covered John Newman's "Love Me Again", which was recognized by the singer himself.
The show earned Anna international recognition as an up-and-coming artist, and with her rise in popularity, she went on to release her first original work "Middle of Nowhere" in 2019. The song earned her a nomination at the LUX Style Awards in the Best Upcoming Artist category.
Anna's music chronicles her personal journey, narrating her experience with life, love, friendship and loss. With the help of social media, she has garnered a dedicated listenership and a cult following amongst young women through her original work.
Since launching her career, Anna has worked with renowned international brands such as Pepsi, Khaadi, Yes Theory, and Universal Music Group London. She has also worked in collaboration with well-known artists such as Danyal Zafar, Arsalan Hasan and more.
Anna is a strong advocate for women empowerment and youth development. She is dedicated to using her platform to create a positive impact on the world and has even partnered with organizations such as the U.S. Department of Justice and the World Bank to help give back to her community.
